The Willimantic River Alliance received a Conservation Award from Joshua's Tract Conservation and Historic Trust at the Trust's Annual Dinner on April 14, 2005. Each year the Trust recognizes an organization that promotes the conservation goals of the Trust. Mark Paquette accepted the award for the Alliance. Sam Dodd received a President's award from the Trust's President, Hill Bullard, for his many years of service to the Trust and to the region through his conservation projects and stewardship of recreation trails. Joanne Reynolds also received a President's award for her efforts to protect the Atlantic White Cedar bog in Windham from encroachment by nearby development.
